Snowed in with Taralee & Leah

A crazy blizzard came through and Taralee & Leah had been visiting. That night hundreds of commutors were snowed in on the freeway. There were 250 cars staying overnight at a closeby Maverick - I can't imagine the lines for the bathroom there. It was pretty crazy and we were so lucky that Bruce, Taralee's husband had got the heads up from a co-worker on the storm.

Kala - Naptime

I have to say Kala is quite the charmer when she is quietly asleep :D Very Cute!

Sledding with Kimballs

This past winter we had a fun weekend with the Kimballs. The kids brought their sleds and Nick broke out his snowboard. By the time they were done they practically had an olympic loge with a jump and all. The kids and Nick and Chris were outside for hours and had a blast.

Kate in the meantime got into everything and had a good time keeping mom busy. Including trying to eat Kala's food - lol. She is quite a cutie but all the same a mischievous little girl.

Dinosaur Museum Trip

A Day with the Dinosaurs.

On a recent trip with Cathy and the kids, we made a trip to the Dinosaur Museum. The girls had a good time in the play zone with water, sand, trees, and dinosaurs making their own islands etc.

We saw huge dinosaur, fish, sharks, and mamoth skeletons. Also, we watched a 3D Movie with all kinds of water dinosaurs. The girls were a little scared of the mean ones, but liked the little fish swimming close to them. Cathy told Bethany that if she got scared to take off the glasses, so Bethany decided that the glasses were scary and at first wouln't put them on. It took a lot of coaching, but she finally put them on.

We also built our own dinosaur, with different heads, tails, legs, arms, etc. The girls had a great time with this one.

New Addition to the family - Kala :)

First Day Home for Kala
After visiting the humane society and getting to know a lot of kitties and puppies, we found a good fit with 10 month old tabby cat, KALA. When we brought her home, we opened the carrier and she looked like a ferret perched up as high as should could on her hind legs and did a full 360 viewing of the space a couple times before she dared venture out. It was very cute. She is getting used to Nick and I and her new home.

She is a little attached to us right now and cries for us when we leave a room. I equate it to separation anxiety that babies have when you are out of sight. She thought she could explore on her own and went half way down our stairs and when she couldn't see us anymore she cried until we came and called her.

She joined us in our office downstairs and was having fun catching Nick's mouse (computer mouse). Then after awhile Kala found a perfect spot for her on to of my office chair. You can see her trying to sleep on the chair in the picture above.

Our lives are now forever changed, we have a new house with a yard and new cat. Possibly a puppy too...to be continued. :D

We Got the House!

We put in an offer and after a small bidding war with a few other bidders we finally got the home on the bench today! We are very excited and will be closing on the loan on Dec 13 and move-in date is the 15th.
